Comprehensive responsible gaming framework and support services for Casino Rama Resort patrons.

Casino Rama Responsible Gaming Policy

Casino Rama Resort operates a Responsible Gaming Program that has been accredited since 2014. This document sets out the responsible gaming framework, available tools, self-exclusion procedures, financial restriction options, and access to professional assistance for patrons and their families.

1. Responsible Gaming Accreditation Framework

The Responsible Gaming Program is evaluated against eight core responsible gambling standards established by an international accreditation body:

  • Corporate policies and governance
  • Self-exclusion programs
  • Advertising and promotion standards
  • Informed decision making resources
  • Assistance for patrons with gambling problems
  • Access to money controls
  • Venue growth and game features evaluation
  • Employee training and awareness

Compliance with these standards is maintained on an ongoing basis, and the program is subject to regular review and evaluation.

2. PlaySmart Centre

The PlaySmart Centre is located at the Bus Entrance and operates daily from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM. The facility is operated by the Responsible Gambling Council of Ontario as an independent service.

Services provided at the PlaySmart Centre include:

  • Confidential information on safer gambling practices
  • Educational materials about gambling risks
  • Referrals to professional support services
  • Assistance with self-exclusion enrollment
  • Information about financial restriction programs

Information provided to PlaySmart staff is kept confidential. The centre operates independently to provide unbiased support and guidance.

3. Self-Exclusion Programs

3.1. My PlayBreak

My PlayBreak is Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s self-exclusion tool and is available to all patrons. Through this program, individuals may voluntarily exclude themselves from Casino Rama Resort and all OLG facilities.

Self-exclusion periods are customizable up to five years. During an active self-exclusion period, individuals are prohibited from entering gaming areas at participating facilities.

Enrollment in My PlayBreak can be completed at the PlaySmart Centre or through designated OLG channels. Staff provide guidance on the enrollment process and explain the terms of the self-exclusion agreement.

3.2. Self-Exclusion Enforcement

During an active self-exclusion period, individuals who enter gaming areas may be subject to removal from the premises. Any winnings obtained during a self-exclusion period may be forfeited in accordance with the program terms.

Self-exclusion applies to all OLG gaming facilities in Ontario. Individuals enrolled in the program are responsible for complying with the terms of their self-exclusion agreement.

4. Personal Financial Restriction Program

The Personal Financial Restriction Program allows patrons to voluntarily limit the types of financial transactions that can be completed while at Casino Rama Resort.

Enrollment is available at the Casino Cage or Credit Office. Patrons may restrict:

  • Use of ABM machines on the property
  • Credit transactions at cashiering cages
  • Specific payment methods at designated locations

Once enrolled, restrictions remain in effect until the patron submits a formal request to modify or remove the limitations. Requests to modify financial restrictions are subject to a waiting period so that decisions are made on a considered basis.

5. Access to Money Controls

Financial transaction options at Casino Rama Resort are available at multiple locations. Information about these options is provided to support informed decision making regarding access to funds while gaming.

  • ABM machines accept MasterCard, American Express, Visa, and debit cards.
  • Cashiering cages accept Visa, MasterCard, debit cards, and cash.
  • Hotel services accept MasterCard, American Express, and Visa.
  • Restaurants and bars accept MasterCard, American Express, Visa, debit cards, and cash.

Patrons who have concerns about access to money while gaming may enroll in the Personal Financial Restriction Program to limit available transaction methods.

6. Win and Loss Statements

Patrons may request win and loss statements for tax or personal record-keeping purposes. Requests must be submitted to the Legal Department by mail or email.
